Flexible Cable Guided Wave Radar (GWR) Level Transmitters | SRL615 Series

High-precision, continuous contact level transmitter featuring a flexible stainless steel cable probe designed for extended measuring depths up to 30 meters. Engineering optimized for deep tanks, bulk solids silos, powder storage, and tanks storing highly aggressive chemicals, acids, or bases. Configured as a Variable Product: choose between the standard heavy-duty cable or the chemically inert wetted material layout for corrosive processes.

  • Long-Distance Accuracy: Up to 30 meters with fine-tuned precision down to ±2 mm.

  • Built-in HMI: 4-digit programmable LCD screen for fast localized calibration.

  • Smart Architecture: 4-20mA transmitter output with universal HART or RS485 Modbus options.

Description

The SRL615 Series flexible cable GWR transmitter breaks through the physical height constraints of rigid rod systems. When working with tall storage silos, deep industrial sumps, or tanks lacking overhead clearance to install a long rigid metal probe, a flexible cable is the engineering gold standard. The cable is easily uncoiled into position and can be bottom-anchored to ensure vertical stability in high-flow processes.

This variable page allows you to choose between two industrial configurations:

  • Standard Industrial Cable (SRL611): High-tensile, high-accuracy (±2 mm) cable system for tracking liquids, powders, granules, and bulk solid particles in heavy silos up to 250°C.

  • Corrosive Process Cable (SRL615): Explicitly designed with specialized wetted materials to withstand constant exposure to strong acids, alkaline bases, harsh solvents, and highly reactive chemical media up to 200°C.

Features

  • Premium Measurement Precision: Outstanding ±2 mm accuracy makes it highly reliable for strict inventory auditing and volumetric tracking.

  • High Pull-Force Tensile Design: Engineered to easily handle the downward pull forces and friction common in deep bulk solid and powder silos.

  • Advanced Signal Tracking: Completely unaffected by airborne dust during silo filling cycles, dense condensation blankets, or ambient vacuum pressures.

  • On-Board Diagnostics: Programmable 4-digit digital display allows quick troubleshooting and commissioning directly at the nozzle.

FAQ

Q: How does the cable variation handle the massive friction inside powder or solid silos?

A: The SRL611 is built with high tensile strength to withstand physical strain. However, it is vital to calculate your silo’s pull-down forces before anchoring the cable to the floor, as high material drawdown can strain the connection.

Q: Where should the cable be placed relative to the silo filling stream?

A: To avoid mechanical damage and signal noise, always mount the sensor away from the infill stream. Ensure the cable probe maintains a distance of ≥300 mm from the silo wall and remains completely clear of the direct falling path of incoming material.

Q: What is the recommended practice for tapered or conical-bottom vessels?

A: For silos or tanks with a conical bottom, the GWR sensor should be installed directly above the center of the cone top. This layout allows the cable to track inventory smoothly down to the absolute lowest cleanout point.
