Installing traditional level probes in pressurized vessels, fuel tanks, or toxic chemical reservoirs requires costly tank downtime, specialized hot-work permits, and potential leak hazards. The SUL814 External Ultrasonic Level Meter solves this by transmitting high-frequency sonar waves through the bottom tank wall directly into the liquid medium. The signal reflects off the liquid surface back to the sensor, automatically calculating height without touching the liquid.

Equipped with an ExdIICT6 explosion-proof heavy-duty host and an IP68 submersible probe, the SUL814 is built for harsh industrial sites. FAQ

Q: Will the SUL814 work on tanks with internal linings or rubber coatings?

A: No. The measuring point on the bottom tank wall must be solid metal or hard composite without air interlayers, inner linings (e.g., rubber, PTFE lining, enamel), or heavy internal baffle structures directly above the sensor.

Q: What liquid types are suitable for this external meter?

A: The liquid must be clean with low dynamic viscosity (less than 30 mPa·s). It should not contain heavy sediment, dense air bubbles (greater than 0.1%), high suspended solids, or severe crystallization. Standard water, oils, solvents, LPG, and fuels are ideal.

Q: How is the probe mounted to the bottom of the tank?

A: For magnetic metal tanks, the probe uses a high-strength magnetic mount paired with acoustic coupling gel. For non-ferromagnetic tanks (like FRP or stainless steel), an adhesive/epoxy mounting fixture is used.
